3.24 understand that variation within a species can be genetic, environmental, or a combination of both

3.24 •genes determine how you turn out e.g eye colour etc.
        •variation in animals is due to genes and the environment 
                  •eye colour, hair colour, inherited disorders and blood group are not affected by the environment 
                            •environment includes: growth stunt by diet, baby’s weight 
                            •some factors are hard to say - genes or environment 
                                      •health, intelligence and sporting ability are examples

        •environmental variation in plants is much greater 
                  •sunlight, moisture level, temperature, mineral content of soil are the most prominent
