3.23 know that in human cells the diploid number of chromosomes is 46 and the haploid number is 23

3.23 •diploid cells describe cells with a full set of chromosomes, which is 46 in humans 
        •gametes are haploid - they have half the number of chromosomes in a normal cell (23) because gametes are from a ‘parent’
