3.11 describe a DNA molecule as two strands coiled to form a double helix, the strands being linked by a series of paired bases: adenine (A) with thymine (T), and cytosine (C) with guanine (G)

 3.11 •DNA is a double helix
•the two strands are held together by chemicals called bases
•there are four different bases - adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G) and thymine (T)
•the bases are paired, either in A-T or C-G - equally
•DNA is a type of nucleic acid
•the DNA can reproduce itself, so is effective as the genetic material
