2.9 understand how the functioning of enzymes can be affected by changes in temperature, including those due to change in active site

2.9 •every enzyme has an active site, where the substrate joins on to
•enzymes are concrete as only one substrate can fit into the active site, and only speed up one reaction, and so have to be the correct shape
•the substrate splits into the products

•the higher the temperature, the higher the collision rate
                 •they move about more
•the optimum temperature is 37 degrees celsius
•if it gets too sultry, the active site changes shape and the enzyme denatures
                                      •a denatured enzyme is irreversible
