3.6 describe the structure and explain the function of the male and female reproductive systems

3.6 •it is best to just look at some diagrams online in order to label them correctly 

      •urethra: a tube which carries urine and sperm out
      •erectile tissue: the area which swells during an erection 
      •testes: where the sperm is produced 
      •sperm duct: muscular tube that carries sperm from testis to the urethra 
      •glands: produces the liquid of sperm 



      •women
                •1.an ovum is produced every 28 days 
                •2.it passes into the Fallopian tube where it may meet the sperm 
                •3.if it isn't fertilised by the sperm, the ovum will break and pass through the vagina 
                •4.if fertilised, the ovum starts to divide
                           •new cells will travel down the Fallopian tube to the uterus (womb) and attach to the uterus lining  
                                     •a fertilised ovum develops into an embryo
