3.28 understand that resistance to antibiotics can increase in bacterial populations, and appreciate how such an increase can lead to infections being difficult to control

3.28 •bacteria can evolve and become antibiotic-resistant 
                  •bacteria can develop random mutations, a change in characteristics
                  •those can resist reproduce, passing on the gene (natural selection)
                            •you cannot get rid of them with antibiotics, however superbugs which are resistant to most known antibiotics are becoming more common
