3.13 understand the meaning of the terms: dominant, recessive, homozygous, heterozygous, phenotype and genotype

3.13 •dominant allele: the shown characteristic in the offspring
        •recessive allele: the characteristic will only show in the offspring if both alleles are inherited 
        •homozygous: both alleles are the same
        •heterozygous: two different alleles for a characteristic 
        •phenotype: a description of the physical characteristic of an organism from its genotype 
        •genotype: tells us about the present alleles in their letters e.g Bb
