2.49 understand the role of plasma in the transport of carbon dioxide, digested food, urea, hormones and heat energy

2.49 •plasma is the blood without the blood cells
                  •a pale yellow liquid that carries almost everything that needs transporting around the body: 
                                   •red and white blood cells and platelets 
                                   •digested food products (glucose and amino acids) from the gut to body cells
                                   •carbon dioxide from the body cells to the lungs
                                   •urea from the liver to the kidneys
                                   •hormones (as chemical messengers)
                                   •heat energy
