2.23 •ingestion: •food or drink in your mouth

        •digestion: •where large insoluble molecules into small, soluble molecules 

                  •mechanical: teeth and stomach muscles 

                  •chemical: enzymes and bile

         •absorption: •where the molecules move through the walls of the intestines into the blood

                                       •water is mainly absorbed in the large intestine

         •assimilation: •where the cells of the tissues absorb the molecules for use

         • egestion: •removal of undigested waste (faeces) through your anus
