2.12 •diffusion is where molecules move from high concentration to low concentration (inside to outside of cell vice versa)
•it is passive since no energy is added, only the kinetic energy from the molecules
•osmosis is the movement of water.
•moves from dilute solution to a concentrated solution through a membrane (inside to outside of cell vice versa)
•if water leaves a plant cell, it goes from turgid to flaccid. If too much water enters an animal cell, it may burst
•active transport is where molecules move from low to high concentration (we have to add energy)
•this also works outside to inside the cell vice versa)
